Online Learning

Online Learning

The Office of Inclusive Excellence team believes that everyone should have access to high-quality, convenient and engaging content on important topics that shape our world, make our workplaces more accessible, and create new understanding. We offer three kinds of online engagement for students, faculty, and staff:

Foundational Learning for Students

Faculty often request Inclusive Excellence workshops for their classes, and now the first step of that workshop is for students to engage in convenient foundational content in LinkedIn Learning. Faculty can identify which Customized Learning Track is best for their class, we enroll their students, and then the learning happens! When their students are complete, simply schedule the in-person session with us to synthesize learning and create course-specific discussion.

Check out our 6 customized learning tracks below to build career readiness in students. Click the "Foundational Learning for Students" button to get more information on how your students can engage.

Foundation Learning for Students

As the workforce globalizes, it's crucial to understand communication differences across cultures, including language, pace, style, and nonverbal cues. Adapting your communication strategy in a diverse environment is essential for workplace harmony and success.

Learn how to create and lead an organization that leverages the diverse talents of all contributors while boosting employee engagement, innovation, and creativity. Discover the business case for inclusive leadership, redefine leadership through inclusion, and explore best practices for developing inclusive leaders and avoiding common pitfalls.

Learn the art and science of business decision-making by exploring four styles—autocratic, participatory, democratic, and consensual—and understanding which to use in specific situations. Gain tools to reduce risk, involve stakeholders, and make better, faster decisions with less risk by applying concepts like the RACI matrix and recognizing types of ambiguity.

High-performing teams are comprised of employees who feel empowered, valued, and accepted. By taking steps to establish an inclusive team dynamic, you can positively impact both your team's morale and your bottom line. Thrive on any team by dismantling barriers and fostering an environment where good ideas flourish.

Being able to work across cultures is an increasingly necessary skill for all employees. Compare high and low context cultures, define individual and high status cultures, explore direct and indirect communication styles, understand cultural risk, recognize a monochronic workplace, and describe someone with an internal locus of control.
