MLK Day

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

Each year on Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, the Office of Inclusive Excellence hosts a breakfast to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The MLK Breakfast tradition has grown to an event that is beloved by the campus and community. With a keynote speaker, a call to participate in Maroon Volunteers organized service activities after the program, and selections from Black Voices, Mississippi State University’s student gospel choir, there is a place to listen, learn, and build understanding.

If you were not able to join us in-person, we encourage you to view the event livestream below.

Unity Breakfast 2024

On January 15, 2024, we celebrated the 30th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Unity Breakfast. Each year, Mississippi State University hosts the Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Unity Breakfast and Day of Service. This event brings over 700+ community members and leaders, state and local representatives, and Mississippi State Faculty, Staff and Students together to honor the life and legacy of Dr. King. Immediately following the program, attendees and others have opportunities to continue Dr. King’s legacy of service by participating in community-wide service initiatives.
