Ra’Sheda is the Vice President of Multicultural Affairs and Director of the Holmes Cultural Diversity Center at Mississippi State University. At the Holmes Cultural Diversity Center she strives to assist students with their academic, career aspirations and social adjustments to college life. Ra’Sheda believes Rasheed Ogunlaru when he said “Legacy is not what’s left tomorrow when you’re gone. It’s what you give create, impact and contribute today while you’re here that then happens to live on.” As a result, she strives to ensure that she is imparting into each student the leadership skills and passion that they may need to create impact not only at the University but in every area of their lives.

While being at Mississippi State she has started the I.D.E.A.L. Woman Program. The I.D.E.A.L. Woman Program was assembled to inspire, encourage, and provide positive role models for women to assist them in their development and use of leadership skills that will enhance not only them but all those that they come in contact with. Their chief goal is not only to succeed in all of our endeavors but excel above the typical expectations of the norm.

Ra’Sheda, a Meridian, MS, native, is a two-time graduate of Mississippi State University. She is the wife of Ra’mon Forbes and the loving mother of two boys, Ethan and Levi Forbes. Extending her passion for service beyond his work obligations, as her and her husband oversee a mentorship program and various ministry projects in the community.
